Harrison United Methodist Church is located approximately 1 mile south of the intersection of Ballantine Commons Parkway and Lancaster Highway, or approximately 5 miles south of the South Blvd exit off I-485. South Bvld becomes Polk St, which becomes Lancaster Highway. The church is on the right. Building 300 is the small white building located at the rear of the campus, behind Hammill Hall, Building 200. Stroll through the courtyard between the Sanctuary and Hamilton Hall; Building 300 is located just to the left. Dr. Wells' office is the first door on the left.Close
Dr. Wells is an NC Certified Fee-Based Practicing Pastoral Counselor and an ordained elder in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church with over 20 years' experience in the parish setting. In addition, Pat formerly practiced as a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric nursing. Her clinical training includes practical work through Carequest Community Counseling Center at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She is also an AAPC Certified Pastoral Counselor, a Gottman Seven Principles Program Educator, a Level 1 Gottman Method clinician, a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals, and an IATP Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
Dr. Wells is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a graduate of Watts School of Nursing. She is also a summa cum laude graduate of The Divinity School at Duke University with a Master of Divinity. Dr. Wells received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Graduate Theological Foundation.
Dr. Wells is a pastoral psychotherapist who uses a collaborative approach in working with individual, couples, and families. She has experience helping people coping with depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship and marital problems, divorce recovery, women's concerns, and end-of-life issues, as well as abuse and sexual trauma. She also brings both pastoral experience and counseling expertise to clergy dealing with issues of self-care and/or pastoral practice. As a pastoral psychotherapist, her clients may choose to consider their problems in the context of their individual faith. Pat also performs weddings and offers premarital counseling.
