From I-77 (Exit 18) take Harris Blvd. and go 2.5 miles toward I-85. Turn right onto Sugar Creek Rd. Go south on Sugar Creek Rd. 1/10 of a mile and turn left on Brookestone Dr. (which runs behind the church). Go 50 yards and turn left into the first entrance of the church parking lot and go straight up the hill until you see the tall Bell Tower and the Sanctuary on the right side. Park in front of the Chapel building, to the left of the main sanctuary. Enter the set of double doors directly to the right of the "Chapel" sign. Once inside have a seat in the chairs in front of you or inside the Chapel, through the doors to your left. My counseling office shares space with the Prayer Room. I will come out to meet you when I am ready. If you become concerned that I have not come to get you, you can knock on my office door

JoAnn is a North Carolina Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (MFTA). She has additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Forgiveness Model. She also has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). In 2018, JoAnn co-presented at the AAPC-SE annual conference on issues facing mixed orientation couples as well as sexuality in the Evangelical context.
JoAnn earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University in 2019 and was awarded the honor of Student of the Year by the faculty. While in graduate school, JoAnn completed her externship at Atrium Main in the Surgical Trauma ICU and Progressive Care Units. At Pfeiffer's on-site clinic she worked with individuals, couples, children, and extended family members. JoAnn completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
JoAnn applies a systemic lens to presenting issues and enjoys working with individuals of all ages, couples, families, and extended families. She specializes in couples counseling, parenting, children's issues, sexuality and spirituality. JoAnn's counseling approaches include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Experiential Therapy, and mindfulness interventions. JoAnn has experience in counseling those facing issues with anxiety, depression, communication, sexuality, spirituality, loss/grief, trauma, childhood abuse, infidelity, and separation/divorce.
